The Evolution & Longevity of Brandy: submittedby yaya@betlive.com
We love it, thanks again for always submitting awesome Graphics girl! :)
On June 6, 1998 Brandy and Monica scored their first number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “The Boy Is Mine.” At the time, Brandy and Monica were still teenagers and their girl-anthem track had the girls (and some of the boys!) singin’, “It’s not hard to see, the boy is mine … ” If there would’ve been social media in ‘98, the sparkling gays of YouTube certainly would’ve made a few dozen viral videos.
The track topped the charts for 13 weeks and would earn the R&B-pop singers a Grammy. Check out Brandy and Monica’s performance of the song below. Can you believe it’s been 15 years?
“It’s a “vocals” lover’s dream. Jessie J and Brandy are in talks to team up for a new song on the British singer’s sophomore album.”
Nothing is set in stone, but how much would the Starz love for this duet to happen?
